Intake-Health and Fitness Goal Identification 

When we first meet, I will ask you about your current fitness routine, your fitness goals, and any limitations or medical conditions you may have. If you currently have a medical condition that limits physical activity, please first, get clearance from your physician. Please allow 60-90 minutes for this first visit, so I can take baseline measurements and assessments.  Our first meeting will give you a chance to determine your goals and express concerns. It will also give me the opportunity to better understand your needs and expectations. I will try my best to give you a rough idea of the work and timeline necessary to achieve your objectives, After this meeting, I will design your initial exercise plan.

Intake-Assessments To Determine Baseline Fitness

Physical Measurements and Physician Restrictions and  Recommendations- What is your weight, height, BMI, metabolic age, etc. and what has your doctor asked you to do to improve your health? Let’s find out.

Movement Assessment-How well are you able to perform the six foundational movement patterns? Let’s find out.

Core Assessment-The core is the center of your physical universe. A well functioning core allows you  to move efficiently and effectively and project strength and athleticism.  How are the four aspects of your core? Let’s find out!

 

Intake-Design of a Tailored Resistance Training Plan

After learning more about you and your goals, assessing your core, movement and more, I will design your first workout plan.

Movement Instruction for Safety and Effectiveness

How should you position your feet and move your knees when performing a squat?  What is a helpful cue when learning a hip hinge?  How do you position your elbows in a pulling exercise so you work your lats more than your middle traps?  What is a helpful cue when doing a push up so you work your chest more than your shoulders?  When we were toddlers, we were dancers. We didn’t need to think about how to move; we just moved! But time and habits have imprisoned too many of us inside corporeal prisons. Hire me, to help free you from a body that doesn’t move the way you need or want it to, to the body you were meant to live in!

Design of a Tailored Cardio-Core Program

In addition to designing a resistance training program, and taking into account the time you have to devote to exercise, I will also design a cardio-core training component for “rest days,”


 

Lifestyle and Basic Nutrition Information

I will ask you about your beliefs around food, learn your eating patterns, food favorites and the foods you dislike. I will share general, fact-based nutrition information, and show you an easy way to keep track of calories  in and calories out. I will also share delicious, wholesome ideas for meals and snacks and introduce you to sources of tasty protein-packed, fiber rich recipes from around the world.

However, bear in mind, the scope of my certification does not encompass meal plans, diet or supplement recommendations nor prescriptions to treat medical conditions.  For this you must consult a registered dietician.

 

Meal Planning Consultation Using My Plate

 

Using the MyPlate website I can point out different choices that you have to satisfy your nutritional requirements.  I can also share recipes that are both delicious and nutritious.  However, bear in mind, the scope of my certification does not encompass meal plans, diet or supplement recommendations nor prescriptions to treat medical conditions.
